Treebank-Driven Approach to the Study of Spoken Slovenian
SPOT (A Treebank-Driven Approach to the Study of Spoken Slovenian, ARIS grant no. Z6-4617) is a linguistic research project funded by the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency aimed at investigating the syntactic properties of Slovenian speech through an innovative corpus-driven approach involving syntactically annotated collections of spoken and written language data, i.e. syntactic treebanks. In doing so, the project aims to establish a coherent framework for syntactic annotation of speech transcriptions, provide a high-quality treebank of spoken Slovenian, propose a methodology for treebank-driven analysis of spoken language, and promote the use of syntactically annotated corpora in linguistic research in general.
